Han skrev bland annat den humoristiska "Snobbarnas bok" (eng. The Duke of Bedford's Book of Snobs, 1965). Han var gift först 1939 med Clare Gwendolen Bridgman (d. 1945), och sedan 1947 med Hon.Lydia Yarde-Buller (1917–2006) (skilda 1960), samt tredje gången 1960 med Nicole Schneider (1920–) . (sv)
- John Ian Robert Russell, 13. Duke of Bedford (* 24. Mai 1917 in London; † 25. Oktober 2002 in Santa Fe, New Mexico) war ein britischer Peer und Schriftsteller. Russell trug zunächst den Höflichkeitstitel eines Lord Howland, 1940–1953 den eines Marquess of Tavistock. Mit dem Tode seines Vaters erbte Russell 1953 den Titel eines Duke of Bedford und den damals damit verbundenen Sitz im House of Lords. 1939 bis zu seiner Verwundung 1940 nahm Russell am Zweiten Weltkrieg bei den Coldstream Guards teil. Danach wandte er sich dem Journalismus zu und war 1940 als Reporter für den Daily Express tätig. (de)
