The 2008 United States presidential election in Missouri was held on November 4, 2008, and was part of the 2008 United States presidential election, which took place throughout all 50 states and D.C. Voters chose 11 representatives, or electors to the Electoral College, who voted for president and vice president. This is the only time Missouri has ever voted Republican while nearby Indiana has voted Democratic. It was the only Midwestern state east of the Great Plains to back McCain in 2008.
