Aly Bain MBE (born 15 May 1946) is a Scottish fiddler who learned his instrument from the old-time master Tom Anderson. The former First Minister of Scotland Jack McConnell called Bain a "Scottish icon."
Aly Bain, MBE (* 17. Mai 1946 in Lerwick, Shetland-Inseln) ist ein schottischer Fiddler. Bekannt wurde er durch die Gründung der Folk-Band Boys of the Lough, später auch durch etliche Solo-Alben. 1994 erhielt er für seine musikalischen Leistungen den Order of the British Empire (MBE). Er bekam die Ehrendoktorwürde als „Doctor of Music (DMus)“ von der Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama und von der Universität St Andrews. (de)

Aly Bain (Lerwick (Shetland), 1946) is een Schotse traditionele vioolspeler. Hij is afkomstig van het Main Island van de Shetlandeilanden een eilandengroep noordelijk van Schotland. Op elfjarige leeftijd begon hij met vioolspelen. Als een van de oprichters van de band The Boys of the Lough trad hij jarenlang op in de Verenigde Staten, Canada en Europa. In zijn solo-albums trad hij op bij Hue and Cry, , Richard Thompson en Fish. (nl)
