Barry John Sheerman (born 17 August 1940) is a British Labour and Co-operative politician who has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Huddersfield, previously Huddersfield East, since 1979. He is also Labour's longest continuously serving MP and the oldest Labour MP in the current parliament; only Margaret Beckett has longer total service. Sheerman has announced he will not seek re-election at the next general election.
