Francis George Miles VC (9 July 1896 – 8 November 1961) was an English recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces. He was 22 years old, and a Private in the 1/5th Battalion, The Gloucestershire Regiment, British Army during the First World War when the following deed took place for which he was awarded the VC. He joined up again in World War II serving with the Pioneer Corps. His medals are held in the Lord Ashcroft VC collection in the Imperial War Museum in London.
