Robert Stanley "Bob" Barton (February 13, 1925 – January 28, 2009) was the chief architect of the Burroughs B5000 and other computers such as the B1700, a co-inventor of dataflow architecture, and an influential professor at the University of Utah. His students at Utah have had a large role in the development of computer science. Barton died on January 28, 2009, in Portland, Oregon, at age of 83.

Ab 1954 arbeitete er als Programmierer für Shell, unter anderem auch auf Computern der Burroughs Corporation.
