The Roman temple of Bziza is a well-preserved first century AD building dedicated to Azizos, a personification of the morning star in the Canaanite mythology. This Roman temple lends the modern Lebanese town of Bziza its current name as Bziza is a corruption of Beth Azizo meaning the house or temple of Azizos. Azizos is identified as Ares by Julian the Apostate. The temple of Bziza is featured on multiple stamps issued by the Lebanese state.

Le temple est dédié à , issu de la religion cananéenne. Ce temple donne le nom de la ville puisque le nom de Bziza est un dérivé de « Beth Azizo » voulant dire « Temple d'Azizo ». Der Tempel wird heute als Saydet ‘Awamid (Notre-Dame-des-Colonnes) bezeichnet, was sich auf die in den Tempel gebaute Kirche bezieht, denn in byzantinischer Zeit ist der Bau in eine Kirche umgewandelt worden. Die Tempelruine war westlichen Reisenden seit der ersten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts bekannt und ist mehrmals von frühen Reisenden gezeichnet worden. Der Tempel war wahrscheinlich dem geweiht. Der Name des Gottes ist durch keine Inschrift am Tempel belegt, doch wurde er von Ernest Renan aus dem Ortsnamen Bziza erschlossen. Daniel Krencker und Willy Zschietzschmann untersuchten den Tempel zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts. 1965 wurde der Tempel von Harutu (de) El Templo romano de Bziza, es un edificio bien conservado del siglo I d. C. dedicado a Azizos; una personificación de la estrella de la mañana en la mitología cananea. Este templo romano da nombre a la actual ciudad libanesa de Bziza, ya que este vocablo es unas puertas que conectan a una cela cuadrada. En la parte posterior del templo yacen los restos del ádyton donde alguna vez estuvieron las imágenes de la deidad. El antiguo templo funcionaba como un aedes, la morada de la deidad.
