Stewart Roussin Fischer (September 1, 1924 – February 25, 2013) known professionally as Dirk Fischer or Dirty Dirk Fischer was an American composer, arranger, educator, trumpeter, and valve trombonist. Before moving to California in 1959, he spent his young adulthood in the Northern Plains, performing with and writing for territory bands booked out of Omaha, Nebraska. He was the brother of Clare Fischer. Fischer was a faculty member at College of the Canyons, as Jazz Band Director and Instructor of Jazz Studies, from 1977 to 2005.

Narodil se do rodiny francouzsko-německého původu a byl nejstarším ze čtyř sourozencům (mimo jiné měl mladšího bratra Clarea, který se později rovněž stal hudebníkem). Na trubku začal hrát ve svých třinácti letech a o rok později přešel k saxofonu; později začal hrát ještě na pozoun. Později působil v několika skupinách a během druhé světové války soužil v armádě. Později se opět začal věnovat hudbě a rovněž pracoval jako pedagog. Zemřel v roce 2013 ve věku 88 let. (cs)
