USS Ivy was a steamer acquired by the Union Navy during the American Civil War. She was assigned by the Navy as a gunboat to patrol navigable waterways of the Confederacy to prevent the South from trading with other countries. Ivy also was assigned the role of tugboat and dispatch boat; towards the end of the war she was assigned the role of coal barge tender.
