William John Cook (born October 18, 1957 in New Jersey) is an American operations researcher and mathematician, and Professor of Combinatorics and Optimization at the University of Waterloo. He was elected a member of the National Academy of Engineering in 2011 for theoretical and computational contributions to discrete optimization. He is known for his work on the traveling salesman problem and is one of the authors of the Concorde TSP Solver.
