The Self-Government Party and the Centre Party gained a seat each while the Social Democratic Party lost a seat. The number of women went from three to seven. The coalition broke up in mid-2008, however, and a government consisting of the parties governing before the 2008 election was sworn in on 26 September 2008, with Kaj Leo Johannesen as PM instead.

Größte Partei wurde der linksrepublikanische Tjóðveldisflokkurin. der leichte Gewinne erzielen konnten ohne jedoch einen Sitz hinzu zu gewinnen. Auch der konservative Fólkaflokkurin und der unionistische Sambandsflokkurin konnten ihre Stimmanteile wahren, während der sozialdemokratische Javnaðarflokkurin des Ministerpräsidenten einen Sitz abgeben musste und prozentual nur noch die viertstärkste Partei repräsentierte. - Wybory parlamentarne na Wyspach Owczych, 2008 odbyły się 19 stycznia 2008. Udział w nich wzięło 31 112 osób na 34 835 uprawnionych do głosowania (frekwencja 89,3%). Zaskoczeniem może być zwiększenie liczby miejsc w parlamencie z 32 na 33, przez co Partia Centralna i Partia Niepodległościowa mogły dostać po jednym głosie więcej, na czym ucierpiała Partia Socjaldemokratyczna, która straciła jednego członka Løgtingu.
