The 2022 season is the Detroit Lions' 93rd in the National Football League (NFL), the 21st playing their home games at Ford Field and their second under the head coach/general manager tandem of Dan Campbell and Brad Holmes. The Lions came into the season looking to improve upon their 3–13–1 from the previous season, with many believing that the Lions would have a "breakout year", and would finish with a winning record. In the 2022 NFL Draft, the Lions held two first round picks which they used to select defensive end Aidan Hutchinson and wide receiver Jameson Williams.
