The Armistice Day centenary corresponds to the date of 11 November 2018, which marks one hundred years following the signing and coming into effect of the Armistice that ended World War I on the Western Front. Commemorative events were organised in the weeks leading up to the centenary itself, including a gathering of over 70 heads of state and government in Paris. A series of Armistice Day, Remembrance Day and Veterans Day commemorations, ceremonies and speeches were held across Europe, the Commonwealth and the United States, as well as in other locations throughout the world.
