The Battle of Poznań (Battle of Posen) during World War II in 1945 was an assault by the Soviet Union's Red Army that had as its objective the elimination of the Nazi German garrison in the stronghold city of Poznań (Posen) in occupied Poland. The defeat of the German garrison required a month-long reduction of fortified positions, urban combat, and a final assault on the city's citadel by the Red Army, complete with medieval touches.

Januar 1945 nach der vollständigen Einschließung der von den deutschen Streitkräften zur Festung erklärten Stadt und endete nach schweren Kämpfen am 23. Februar 1945 mit der Kapitulation ihrer letzten Verteidiger. Den Kampfhandlungen waren schätzungsweise über 12.000 Menschen und ein beträchtlicher Teil der Bausubstanz Posens zum Opfer gefallen. (de) La Batalla de Poznan se libró durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial como parte de la ofensiva del Vístula-Óder del Ejército Rojo. Comenzó el 25 de enero de 1945 tras el cerco completo de la ciudad polaca de Poznan (anexionada por el Tercer Reich tras la invasión alemana de Polonia) por parte de unidades del 8.º Ejército de la Guardia soviético al mando del coronel general Vasili Chuikov, que había sido declarada fortaleza («Festung») por la Wehrmacht, y finalizó tras intensos combates el 23 de febrero de 1945 con la rendición de sus últimos defensores alemanes. Se estima que murieron más de 12 000 personas y una parte considerable de los edificios de la ciudad resultaron dañados por los combates.
