| - Clarence E. „Big House“ Gaines (* 21. Mai 1923 in Paducah, Kentucky; † 18. April 2005 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina) war ein US-amerikanischer College-Basketballtrainer. Als der Trainer der gewann er zwischen 1946 und 1983 828 Spiele, womit er im College-Basketball nur von Dean Smith, Adolph Rupp, Bobby Knight und überboten wird. Zu seinen früheren Spielern zählt der bekannte ehemalige NBA-Spieler Earl Monroe. Am 3. Mai 1982 wurde Gaines in die Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame aufgenommen. (de)
- Clarence Edward "Big House" Gaines Sr. (May 21, 1923 – April 18, 2005) was an American college men's basketball coach with a 47-year coaching career at Winston-Salem State University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Among his numerous honors for his achievements, he is one of the few African Americans to be inducted as a coach into the Basketball Hall of Fame. Before graduating and becoming a coach, he had an outstanding collegiate career as a football player for Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland. (en)
