Muhammad Farooq Sattar (Urdu: محمد فاروق ستار; born 9 April 1959) is a Pakistani politician who is the founder & former leader of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan, who split it from MQM founder and leader Altaf Hussain, he announced separate faction after released from custody by the Pakistan Rangers, a paramilitary organization. He had been the deputy convener of the MQM as well its parliamentary leader in the National Assembly of Pakistan. He had been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan and Provincial Assembly of Sindh since 1988, representing Karachi.
