The Hindu Temple Society of North America is a nonprofit organization that manages the Sri Maha Vallabha Ganapati Devasthanam temple located in Queens, New York City. It is more commonly known as the Ganesha Temple because the central deity in the temple is Ganesha. The Ganesha Temple in Flushing is the first Hindu temple built in the United States. The temple is colloquially referred to as the Flushing temple by Hindus. As of 1994, Dr. Uma Mysorekar has served as the President of the Hindu Temple Society of North America.
