Mousinho Island is a partly ice-covered island, 235 m high, about 3.7 kilometres (2 nmi) from the south end of Gillock Island in the Amery Ice Shelf. Photographed by U.S. Navy Operation Highjump (1946–47) and ANARE (Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions) (1958). First visited by a party led by , from the ANARE Prince Charles Mountains survey in January 1969. Named by Antarctic Names Committee of Australia (ANCA) for , pilot of the Beaver aircraft with the 1969 ANARE Prince Charles Mountains party.

Sie liegt 3 km vor dem südlichen Ende von Gillock Island inmitten des Amery-Schelfeises. Luftaufnahmen der US-amerikanischen Operation Highjump (1946–1947) und der Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions (ANARE) aus dem Jahr 1958 dienten ihrer Kartierung. Erstmals besucht wurde sie im Januar 1969 von einer ANARE-Mannschaft unter der Leitung von John Manning (* 1937) zur Erkundung der Prince Charles Mountains. Das Antarctic Names Committee of Australia benannte sie nach Anthony L. Mousinho, Pilot einer de Havilland Canada DHC-2 Beaver im Dienst dieser Mannschaft. (de)
