(fr) Paul Seidel (* 1970 in Florenz) ist ein italienisch-schweizerischer Mathematiker, der sich vor allem mit symplektischer Geometrie und symplektischer Topologie beschäftigt. Seidel studierte an der Universität Heidelberg bei Albrecht Dold und nach dem Diplom 1994 an der Universität Oxford bei John Roe und Simon Donaldson, bei dem er 1998 promovierte (Floer Homology and the symplectic isotopy problem). Er war zu Gastaufenthalten am Max-Planck-Institut für Mathematik in Bonn (1998/99), am Institute for Advanced Study (1997/98) und der ETH Zürich (2003). Er war 1999 bis 2001 als Chargé de Recherche der CNRS an der École polytechnique in Paris (und gleichzeitig 2000/2001 dort Maitre de Conference) und war ab 2002 Professor am Imperial College in London und ab 2003 an der University of Chicago. E (de) Paul Seidel (Florença, 1970) é um matemático suiço-italiano. É professor do Instituto de Tecnologia de Massachusetts. Foi membro da faculdade de matemática da Universidade de Chicago. Em 2010 recebeu o Prêmio Oswald Veblen de Geometria, "por suas contribuições fundamentais à geometria simplética e, em particular, por seu desenvolvimento de métodos algébricos avançados para a computação de invariantes simpléticos."
