Raymond Pons (Regimundus Pontio; died after 944), who may be numbered Raymond III or Pons I, was the count of Toulouse from 924. In 932, Raymond Pons travelled north with his uncle Count Ermengol of Rouergue and Duke Sancho IV Garcés of Gascony to do homage to King Rudolph. In 936, Raymond Pons founded the monastery of Chanteuges. Between 940 and 941, he controlled Auvergne. In 944, when Hugh the Great and King Louis IV entered Aquitaine, the former met Raymond at Nevers and confirmed his titles while the Toulousain returned with the king to the royal court.

Raymond Pons volgde in 924 zijn vader Raymond II van Toulouse op als graaf van Toulouse, heer van Carcassonne, Albi, Rouergue, Quercy, Razès, Béziers en Agde. In datzelfde jaar verdreef hij de Hongaren uit de Provence. In 932 zwoer hij trouw aan Rudolf I van Frankrijk, die hem beloonde met de titel van hertog van Aquitanië, graaf van Auvergne en met het markizaat Gothië. Raymond Pons stichtte in 936 het klooster van Chanteuges en deed in dat jaar ook een schenking aan het klooster van Saint-Pons-de-Thomières. In 937 deed hij een schenking aan de kerk van Béziers. Es va casar amb Garsenda de Gascunya, amb el qual va tenir 2 fills: Ramon (IV) de Tolosa, comte de Tolosa; i Letgarda de Tolosa (945-978), casada amb Borrell II, comte de Barcelona. Se sap que es va casar en segones núpcies. Es desconeix una possible descendència d'aquest segon matrimoni. Fidel al rei franc Carles III, igual que el seu pare, quan el rei va ser empresonat, va obtenir pel comtat de Tolosa una major independència. El 924 va expulsar als magiars que havien envaït Provença. Tres anys més tard de la mort del rei Carles III, va reconèixer a Raül I de França com a rei, del qual va obtenir el ducat d'Aquitània i el comtat d'Alvèrnia on els dos darrers guillèmides Guillem el Jove (II d'Aquitània i III d'Alvèrnia) (918-926) i Acfred (926-928) havien mort successivament sense deixar successió directe. Ebles Manzer el Bastard es va quedar amb el comtat de Poitou que el seu pare Rainulf II ja li havia deixat el 890 i que va assegurar el 902, però encara que va agafar el títol no el va poder exercir de moment (928-934) ni després per un temps el seu successor. Ramon va ser l'últim comte de Tolosa que alhora fou duc (efectiu) d'Aquitània. El 936 Ramon va fundar el monestir de Chantuja. Veel andere bronnen noemen Raymond Pons "Raymond Pons" en zijn zoon "Raymond III", wat natuurlijk doorwerkt in latere generaties. Raymond Pons was zoon van Raymond II van Toulouse en van Guinidilda, mogelijk dochter van Wifried I van Barcelona en Guinehilde. Raymond was gehuwd met Gersenda, dochter van graaf Garcia II van Gascogne en Amuna. Zij kregen de volgende kinderen:

* een onbekende dochter, ( vermoedelijk is dit Liutgardis van Toulouse ) moeder van Amelius die blijkens het testament van Gersenda in 972 vermoedelijk een kleinzoon van haar is. Gersenda bemiddelde in 969 een overeenkomst tussen de aartsbisschop van Narbonne en het klooster van Saint-Pons de Thomières (het optreden van Gersenda geeft aan dat haar man dan is overleden). In 972 doet ze een schenking aan Saint-Pons de Thomières en maakt haar testament. (nl)
