| - Sant Vicenç de Lerins —Vicentius Lirinensis— (nord de la Gàl·lia, segle v - illa de Lerins, c. 450), anomenat així pel Monestir de Lerins on era prevere, fou un eclesiàstic i monjo, autor eclesiàstic franc. És venerat com a sant per les esglésies catòlica i ortodoxa (24 de maig). De la seva vida no se sap gaire; la principal font és De viris illustribus de Gennadi de Marsella. Era germà de sant Llop de Troyes i fill d'Eparqui, noble franc de Toul. Va ingressar com a monjo al monestir de Sant Honorat de l'illa de Lerins. Va morir entre el 435 i el 450. (ca)

One example was the Commonitorium, c. 434, which offers guidance in the orthodox teaching of Christianity. Suspected of semipelagianism, he opposed the Augustinian model of grace and was probably the recipient of Prosper of Aquitaine's Responsiones ad Capitula Objectionum Vincentianarum. Las noticias sobre su vida se resumen en que, tras una existencia mundana, ingresó en el monasterio de Lerins, cerca de Marsella. Genadio de Marsella escribió que Vicente murió durante el reinado de los emperadores Teodosio II de Oriente y de Valentiniano III de Occidente, por lo que su muerte debe haber ocurrido en 450, o poco antes. Sus reliquias se han conservado en Lérins. Su fiesta se celebra el 24 de mayo. (es)

Habitando o mosteiro de Lérins, sob o pseudônimo de Peregrinus (peregrino), escreveu seu Commonitorium (434); presume-se que tenha morrido pouco depois dessa data. Santo Euquério de Lyon afirmou que Vicente foi notável por sua eloquência e conhecimento. A obra de Vicente ressalta nítida influência semipelagiana de modo que sua obra se assemelha com a de João Cassiano e Fausto de Riez. (pt)
