Antoine-François Ève, also known by the name Ève Demaillot and the pseudonyms Antoine-François Ève-Démaillot, Démaillot, Ève Démaillot, Desmaillot, Maillot, Des Maillots..., (21 May 1747 in Dole – 18 July 1814 in Dubois hospital in Paris) was a French comedian, man of letters, journalist and revolutionary. An agent of the Committee of Public Safety in 1794, he was imprisoned for a while during the Thermidorian Reaction. Dedicated to journalism and theater after his release, he directed the character of in several of his plays.

Engagé dans l'armée royale à dix-huit ans, il déserte au bout de quelques années et s'enfuit à Amsterdam, où il exerce pendant sept ans le métier de comédien. De retour en France, il est un temps le précepteur de Saint-Just et fait jouer des comédies et des opéras-comiques. En 1789, il se tourne également vers le journalisme et s'engage dans le mouvement révolutionnaire. (fr)
