In 1033, following their conquest of the city from the Maghrawa tribe, the forces of Tamim, chief of the Zenata Berber Banu Ifran tribe, perpetrated a massacre of Jews in Fez in an anti-Jewish pogrom. The city of Fez in Morocco had been contested between the Zenata Berber tribes of Miknasa, Maghrawa and Banu Ifran for the previous half century, in the aftermath of the fall of the Idrisid dynasty.

Tras la caída de la dinastía Idrisí, la ciudad de Fez (Marruecos) se la disputaron durante 50 años las tribus Zenata, los Maghrawa y los Beni Ifren. Las hombres del emir Abu Kamel Tamim mataron a más de seis mil judíos, se apropiaron de sus bienes y esclavizaron a las mujeres. La matanza tuvo lugar en el año 424 de la héjira, mes de Yumada al-Thania (mayo-junio de 1033 después de Cristo). Los estudiosos actuales consideran que aquellos hechos pueden considerarse semejantes a un "pogrom". Casualmente en 1912 hubo otro pogrom en Fez. (es)

| - في عام 1033، وبعد فتح مدينة فاس من طرف المغراويون قامت قبيلة قوات تميمبرئاسة البرابرة بنو يفرن المتواجدين في قبيلة زناتة بارتكاب مذبحة في حق اليهود بفاس وذلك قصد مكافحة انتشار اليهودية ومعاداة السامية من جهة، ومن ثم السيطرة على مدينة فاس في المغرب المتنازع عليها بين مجموعة من القبائل الأمازيغية على غرار قبيلة زناتة، المكناسة، المغراويون وكذلك بنو يفرن وقد استمر ذلك النزاع لمدة نصف قرن تقريبا، وذلك في أعقاب سقوط أسرة الأدارسة. قامت قوات تميم بقتل أكثر من ستة آلاف يهودي ثم استولت على ممتلكاتهم، كما قاموا بسبي النساء اليهوديات في المدينة. وقد وقعت أعمال القتل هذه في شهر جمادى الآخرة من سنة 424 هـ (الموافق لـأيار/مايو–حزيران/يونيو 1033 بعد الميلاد)، وقد سُميت أعمال القتل بـ «بوغروم» حسب ما ذُكر في بعض الكتب. هذا وتجدر الإشارة إلى أنه في وقت ما في الفترة ما بين 1038-1040 قام المغراويون بالسيطرة على قبيلة فاس، مما اضطر قوات تميم إلى الفرار إلى مدينة أخرى حيث كانت وجهتهم هذه المرة مدينة سلا. The city of Fez in Morocco had been contested between the Zenata Berber tribes of Miknasa, Maghrawa and Banu Ifran for the previous half century, in the aftermath of the fall of the Idrisid dynasty. Tamim's forces killed over six thousand Jews, appropriated their belongings, and captured the Jewish women of the city. The killings took place in the month of Jumaada al-Akhir 424 AH (May–June 1033 AD). The killings have been called a "pogrom" by some recent writers. Sometime in the period 1038-1040 the Maghrawa tribe retook Fez, forcing Tamīm to flee to Salé. (en)
