- La Copa Dorada de la SAFF 2009 fue la octava edición del hoy llamado Campeonato de la SAFF, torneo de fútbol a nivel de selecciones nacionales organizado por la Federación de fútbol del Sur de Asia (SAFF). Se llevó a cabo en la ciudad de Daca, en Bangladés, y contó con la participación de 8 seleccionados nacionales masculinos. India —que participó del torneo con un seleccionado sub-23— y Maldivas reeditaron la final disputada el año anterior. Finalmente, el cuadro hindú se llevó el triunfo por medio de la definición por penales y alcanzó su quinta estrella en la competencia. (es)

- The 2009 South Asian Football Federation Championship was hosted by Bangladesh from 4 to 13 December 2009. Bangladesh was awarded to host the tournament after the withdrawal of original hosts India. After India's reluctance to host the tournament, in May 2009, at the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Congress in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) president Kazi Salahuddin on his return from the AFC Congress informed that although India were still retaining their status as hosts of the championship, Bangladesh and Nepal had turned in fresh bids in anticipation of staging this prestigious eight-nation meet. Acht Mannschaften aus dem südasiatischen Raum spielten hier um den Titel des Südasienmeisters. Obwohl nur mit einer Nachwuchsmannschaft (U-23) angetreten, konnte sich Indien die Meisterschaft zum fünften Mal sichern. - La Coupe d'Asie du Sud de football 2009 est la 8e édition de la compétition de football opposant les équipes des pays et territoires situés en Asie du Sud. Elle est organisée par la Fédération d'Asie du Sud de football (SAFF). Comme pour les éditions précédentes, les 8 nations membres de la SAFF participent à la compétition. Un premier tour voit les équipes réparties en 2 poules de 4, où chacun affronte une fois ses adversaires. Les 2 premiers de chaque poule sont qualifiés pour la phase finale, disputée en demi-finales et finale. (fr)
