The Thirty-Sixth Wisconsin Legislature convened from January 10, 1883, to April 4, 1883, in regular session. This was the first legislative session after the redistricting of the Senate and Assembly according to an act of the previous session. This session also saw the implementation of an 1881 amendment to the Constitution of Wisconsin. The amendment converted the Legislature from annual sessions to biennial sessions, and doubled the length of terms for legislative officeholders.
