The "9th" annual (void) Venice International Film Festival was held from 30 August to 14 September 1941. Together with the 1940 and 1942 it is 'considered void- as if they did not happen', as the events were carried out in places far away from the Lido, and very few countries participated due to World War II, with an absolute monopoly of institutions and directors that were members of the fascist Rome-Berlin axis. Additionally, a strong fascist political meddling from the Italian fascist government under Benito Mussolini had led to Italy experiencing a period of cultural depression oppressed by fascist propaganda.

| - La "9a" (buit) Mostra Internacional de Cinema de Venècia es va celebrar del 30 d'agost al 14 de setembre de 1941. Juntament amb els anys 1940 i 1942 es considera "buit, com si no haguessin succeït". Els esdeveniments es van celebrar a llocs molt allunyats del Lido, participaren molt pocs països a causa de la Segona Guerra Mundial i amb directors que eren membres de l'eix Roma-Berlín. A més, una forta intromissió política feixista del govern feixista italià sota Benito Mussolini havia provocat que Itàlia experimentés un període de depressió cultural oprimida per la propaganda feixista. Come la precedente e la successiva, la mostra non si svolse al Lido, ma divise le proiezioni tra il "Rossini" e il "San Marco" di Venezia: anche questa edizione, in piena seconda guerra mondiale, fu caratterizzata da una forte ingerenza politica e dalla mancanza di giuria effettiva. Podobnie jak wszystkie cztery wojenne edycje festiwalu (1939-1942), również ta edycja została po wojnie uznana za niebyłą, gdyż pokazy odbywały się z dala od weneckiego Lido, a w filmach sztukę zdecydowanie zdominowała propaganda. W związku z tym pierwszy powojenny festiwal uznano oficjalnie w numeracji za 7. w kolejności. (pl)
