O álbum foi gravado em partes no Abbey Road Studios e lançado pela Polydor Records, no Reino Unido, no dia 05 de novembro de 1982. O flerte com o rock psicodélico e experimental. O álbum faz parte do que os críticos e fãs se referem como "fase de experiências musicais" da banda, pois este álbum contém a presença de sinos, instrumentos de cordas, sintetizadores, muito overdub nas vozes e o som da guitarra aparecendo ocasionalmente. O álbum foi escrito, produzido e arranjado pela própria banda. Foi um sucesso de crítica e também comercial, ficando na sétima posição na parada britânica de venda de álbuns. (pt)

- A Kiss in the Dreamhouse is the fifth studio album by British rock band Siouxsie and the Banshees. It was released on 5 November 1982 by Polydor Records. The record marked a change of musical direction, as the group used strings for the first time and experimented in the studio. Guitarist John McGeoch played more instruments, including recorder and piano. For Julian Marszalek of The Quietus, the release proved the Banshees to be "one of the great British psychedelic bands." Une version cd remasterisé est parue en 2009 avec des bonus inédits. À la sortie du disque, la presse anglaise est dithyrambique. Dans le NME du 6 novembre 1982, Richard Cook conclut sa chronique de A Kiss in the Dreamhouse par cette phrase ; « Je vous le promets : cette musique vous coupera le souffle ». En septembre 2018, l'album ressort en vinyle chez Polydor universal pour la France. (fr)
