The abdominal aortic plexus (not to be confused with the thoracic aortic plexus) is formed by branches derived, on either side, from the celiac plexus and ganglia, and receives filaments from some of the lumbar ganglia. It is situated upon the sides and front of the aorta, between the origins of the superior and inferior mesenteric arteries. From this plexus arise part of the spermatic, the inferior mesenteric, and the hypogastric plexuses; it also distributes filaments to the inferior vena cava.

- El plexo aórtico abdominal (o simplemente plexo aórtico) se origina a partir de ramas derivadas, de cada lado, del plexo y los ganglios celíacos, y recibe filamentos de algunos de los ganglios lumbares. Se ubica sobre los lados y el frente de la aorta, entre los orígenes de las arterias mesentéricas superior e inferior. - Der Plexus aorticus abdominalis ist ein Nervengeflecht, das die Bauchaorta umgibt. Es reicht vom Hiatus aorticus (Durchtrittsöffnung des Zwerchfells für die Aorta), wo es den Plexus aorticus thoracicus fortsetzt, bis zur Gabelung der Aorta, wo er sich als Plexus hypogastricus superior und als Plexus iliacus fortsetzt. Der Plexus aorticus abdominalis bildet einige abzweigende Nervengeflechte, analog zu den von der Aorta abzweigenden Arterien: So ist die Nierenarterie vom Plexus renalis umgeben, der wiederum den Plexus uretericus an den Harnleiter abgibt. Mit der Arteria testicularis, bzw. der Arteria ovarica, zieht auch der Plexus testicularis (bzw. Plexus ovaricus) zur Gonade. Zum Mastdarm wiederum wird der vom Plexus mesentericus inferior entsendet.
