This series of battles took place in 1697 when the Venetian fleet, under Bartolomeo Contarini, hunted down the Turkish fleet in the Aegean Sea. The actions took place on 6 July near Lemnos, on 1 September between Andros and Euboea, and on 20 September south of Euboea. Both sides had about twenty-six battleships as well as several smaller vessels. Casualties for Venice were seventy-one killed and 163 wounded in the first battle and 191 killed and 516 wounded in the last.
