Aleš Bebler (8 June 1907 – 12 August 1981) was a Yugoslav diplomat and a political Commissar. He was a Slovene by ethnicity and was born in present day Slovenia. Bebler joined the Yugoslav Communist Party in 1929, while the organization was still illegal. He completed a doctorate in law in Paris, and lived in exile (in both the Soviet Union and France) from 1931 until 1939. He served as a Republican volunteer during the Spanish Civil War, then returned home to join the Yugoslav Partisans during the Second World War. He served in the High Command of the Slovene Partisans. During the onset of World-War II, he joined Tito's Guerrillas against the invading Nazi forces.

| - Ο Άλες Μπέμπλερ (σλοβενικά: Aleš Bebler), (Ίντρια 8 Αυγούστου 1907 - Λιουμπλιάνα 12 Αυγούστου 1981) ήταν σλοβένικης καταγωγής Γιουγκοσλάβος κομμουνιστής και πολιτικός. Είχε διατελέσει υπουργός διπλωμάτης και πολέμησε στον Ισπανικό εμφύλιο. Πήγε σχολείο στη γενέτηρά του, κατά τον Α΄Παγκόσμιο πόλεμο διέφυγε με την οικογένεια του στην Βιέννη όπου και συνέχισε το σχολείο. Μετά το τέλος του πολέμου γύρισε στην Γιουγκοσλαβία όπου και σπούδασε νομικά στην Λιουμπλιάνα και το Παρίσι. Το 1929 έγινε μέλος στο τότε παράνομο Κομμουνιστικό κόμμα της Γιουγκοσλαβίας. Το 1933 πήγε στην Σοβιετική ένωση όπου παρέμεινε εκεί, με ψευδώνυμο, έως το 1936 που μετέχει στο Παρίσι και με πλαστά έγραφα πήγε στην Μαδρίτη και εντάχτηκε στον Δημοκρατικό στρατό και στις διεθνείς ταξιαρχίες. Με το τέλος του Ισπανικού εμφύλιου πήγε στην Ελβετία και το 1940 επέστρεψε στην Γιουγκοσλαβία. Στον Β΄ Παγκόσμιο Πόλεμο ήταν στις τάξεις των Παρτιζάνων και πήρες διάφορες κομματικές θέσεις στο κομμουνιστικό κόμμα. Με την λήξη του πολέμου διετέλεσε το υπουργός οικονομικών, κι έπειτα εξωτερικών. Από το 1948 πήρε μέρος σε πολλές διπλωματικές αποστολές και πρέσβης ενώ διετέλεσε και μόνιμος αντιπρόσωπος στα Ηνωμένα έθνη. Μετά την αποχώρηση του από την πολιτικήπέρασε τα τελευταία χρόνια της ζωής του ως περιβαλλοντολόγος. Ο γιος του είναι καθηγητής στο Πανεπιστήμιο. (el)

He later worked as Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, and then served as an ambassador to France and Indonesia. In 1963, he became a constitutional court judge.
