Artheneidae is a family of true bugs in the order Hemiptera. It was formerly included in Lygaeidae. There are about 7 genera and at least 20 described species in Artheneidae.

Sono diffusi principalmente nella Regione Paleartica, mentre la loro presenza nell'emisfero australe è limitata ad alcune specie endemiche dell'Australia e della Nuova Zelanda. Una sola specie è citata nella Regione neotropicale, mentre nella sarebbero presenti specie introdotte dalla regione Paleartica. (it)
