Un film mettant en scène sa vie aux Gilbert a même été tourné en 1956 : Pacific Destiny. Grimble, po tym jak wstąpił do brytyjskiej administracji kolonialnej (Colonial Office), został wysłany w 1914 na Wyspy Gilberta.
