The Automobile and Touring Club of Greece (Greek: Ελληνική Λέσχη Περιηγήσεων και Αυτοκινήτου (ΕΛΠΑ), Elliniki Leschi Periigiseon kai Aftokinitou, ELPA) is a Greek motor sports organisation which organizes every racing event in Greece, including the world famous Acropolis Rally. From its early years, ELPA has been involved in organizing national and international car and motorcycle races. The most prominent of these, the annual Acropolis Rally, started in 1952 and provided a major boost to Greek tourism.

Ιδρύθηκε το 1924 από ελάχιστους τότε φίλους του αυτοκινήτου και των τεχνολογικών εξελίξεων της εποχής και σαν κύριο σκοπό της έταξε την πρόοδο του μηχανοκίνητου τουρισμού και αθλητισμού. Για την κατανόηση της τότε κατάστασης από πλευράς αυτοκινητιστικής είναι χαρακτηριστικό ότι το πρώτο αυτοκίνητο που κυκλοφόρησε στην επικράτεια το 1896 ήταν ένα τρίτροχο ΠEZΩ, με ιδιοκτήτη κάποιον Κο Κοντογιαννάκη και ότι μέχρι το 1912, που άρχισε η περίοδος του Πολέμου, το σύνολο των αυτοκινήτων στην Αθήνα δεν υπερέβαινε τα 50. Από το 1912 όμως έχει ιδρυθεί η Διεθνής Ομοσπονδία Μοτοσυκλετισμού (ΔOM), το δε 1922 έχει ήδη αρχίσει να λειτουργεί στο Παρίσι η Διεθνής Επιτροπή Αγώνων της ΔOA και φυσικά αντίλαλος της κίνησης αυτής φθάνει και στην Ελλάδα από φορείς που επικοινωνούν με το εξωτερικό, όπως είναι οι διάφοροι νεαροί Ελληνες επιστήμονες και επιχειρηματίες που ταξιδεύουν και που πρωτοστατούν στην ίδρυση της «EΛΛHNIKHΣ ΛEΣXHΣ AYTOKINHTOY KAI ΠEPIHΓHΣEΩN- EΛΠA» Υπάρχουν αναφορές ότι η ΕΛΠΑ έκλεισε οριστικά το 2019 αλλά το Υπουργείο Μεταφορών την αναφέρει ακόμα ως αρχή έκδοσης Διεθνούς Άδειας Οδήγησης. Η ΕΛΠΑ έχει κλείσει οριστικά. Πρώτα το γραφείο της Αθήνας στις 10/11/2022 και έπειτα το γραφείο της Θεσσαλονίκης στις 11/11/2022. Έμεινε ανοιχτό μόνο το παράρτημα που είναι υπεύθυνο για την έκδοση διπλωματικών εξωτερικού και ιστορικών πινακίδων. (el)

Founded in 1926 and a member of the International Automobile Federation (FIA) and the International Federation of Motorcycling (FIM) since 1927, ELPA services Greek and foreign motorists inside and outside Greece. Before World War II, ELPA had undertaken putting up traffic signs along the Greek road network, an effort financed from its own funds and continued until 1957, when the Greek Government undertook this responsibility. ELPA is also actively engaged in the tourist services sector, providing information and publishing maps - the first road maps of Greece were created by the ELPA. From its early years, ELPA has been involved in organizing national and international car and motorcycle races. The most prominent of these, the annual Acropolis Rally, started in 1952 and provided a major boost to Greek tourism. Since 1993, the racing department of ELPA supports the National Special Olympics Team, and especially the cycling team. ELPA is reported to be now defunct, but the Greek Ministry of Transport mentions it still as the authority that issues international driving licences. (en)
