The Battle of Gorni Dubnik was a battle in the Russo-Turkish War on 24 October 1877. In an effort to reduce the fortress of Pleven quicker, Russian forces began targeting garrisons along the Ottoman supply and communications route. A significant garrison had been reduced at the Battle of Lovcha in September. General Joseph Vladimirovich Gourko was called up from the Shipka Pass area to deal with more of the garrisons protecting Pleven.

Die russischen Truppen stießen anfangs auf heftige Gegenwehr, die jedoch unter dem Angriff von beiden Flanken her schnell zusammenbrach. Die osmanischen Verteidigungslinien wurden zurückgedrängt und das finnisch-russische Garde-Scharfschützen-Regiment erstürmte die Festungsmauern. Der 24. Oktober ist in der Truppe noch heute ein Ehrentag. (de) Slaget vid Gorni Dbnik var ett slag under rysk-turkiska kriget 1877–1878. Slaget ägde rum den 24 oktober 1877 i Pleven i västra Bulgarien. Fästningen var ett av de fästen, som skyddade Plevna och Sofia. Klockan 9 på morgonen attackerade ryssarna fästningen under ledning av general Josif Gurko och besegrade turkarna.
