It was often mentioned in articles on Oregon politics by The Oregonian, the state's largest newspaper. Guest contributors have included most major Democratic politicians in Oregon. The blog was launched in July 2004 by Kari Chisholm, Jeff Alworth, and Jesse Cornett. BlueOregon was the only blog from Oregon officially credentialed for floor access to the 2008 Democratic National Convention in Denver, Colorado.
