The Blue Andalusian, Spanish: Andaluza Azul, is a breed of domestic chicken indigenous to the autonomous community of Andalusia in south-west Spain. It is distributed through much of the countryside of Córdoba and Seville, and is concentrated particularly in the area of Utrera, which is considered the heartland of the breed. In 2009 the population was estimated at 10000 birds. A very different type of Andalusian, more intensely blue and with blue-laced plumage, was created in England from birds imported from Andalusia through selective breeding and cross-breeding with birds of other breeds.

Daher ist der Aufwand, entsprechend gezeichnete Tiere zu erhalten, etwas größer als bei anderen Rassen. Es können aber auch durch gezielte Verpaarung (nur schwarze mit weißen Elterntieren paaren) bis zu 100 % richtig gezeichnete Tiere gezogen werden. Die Entwicklungszeit der Tiere bis zur Geschlechtsreife ist mit 5–6 Monaten durchschnittlich. Wirtschaftlich spielt diese Rasse keine Rolle und wird vor allem des ästhetischen Wertes wegen gehalten. Andalusier sind sehr eng mit den Hühnerrassen: Spanier, Kastilianer und Minorka verwandt. (de)

Es decir, el único color reconocido por la asociación es el resultante de la combinación heterocigótica o híbrida de los genes. Son gallinas de plumaje prieto, de carácter activo y son buenas ponedoras de huevos blancos (más de 160 al año). Las diferencias entre la andaluza azuly la sureña son notables. Aparte de los cien años más de antigüedad de las británicas, tienen las plumas grises ("azules") ribeteadas en negro azulado oscuro, mientras que las andaluzas sureñas no tienen ribeteado, son de mayor tamaño y para su exposición se admiten los plumajes: blanco, negro, ceniza, blanco sucio o salpicado de gris, franciscano, perdiz, morucho, armiñado y plata.
