The relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia were established on 7 July 1992, following both countries' independence from Yugoslavia, in the context of the Yugoslav wars. The two countries have a comparable population (3.5 million for BiH, 4.2 million for Croatia in 2011) and area (51,129 km2 for BiH, 56,594 km2 for Croatia). Croatia's GDP (PPP) per capita is around double of Bosnia and Herzegovina's ($29,207 vs $15,935 in 2020).
