Sie wurde im Jahr 997 als Benediktiner-Abtei gegründet; ab 1220 wurde sie von Zisterzienserinnen geführt. Im Jahr 1802 wurde sie im Zuge der Säkularisation aufgelöst. Elle était située en Allemagne à Burtscheid (Borcette), près d'Aix-la-Chapelle, dans l'actuelle Rhénanie-du-Nord-Westphalie. (it) De abdij van Burtscheid bij Aken werd in 997 gesticht als benedictijnse abdij. In 1138 werd de abdij rijksonmiddellijk. In 1220 werd de abdij omgezet in een cisterciënzerinnenklooster. Bij de secularisatie in de Franse tijd werd de abdij in 1802 ontbonden.
