Cape Dutch architecture is a architectural style found mostly in the Western Cape of South Africa, but modern examples of the style have also been exported as far afield as Western Australia and New Zealand, typically on wine estates. The style was prominent in the early days (17th century) of the Cape Colony, and the name derives from the initial settlers of the Cape being primarily Dutch. The style has roots in medieval Netherlands, Germany, France and Indonesia.

* de witgepleisterde muren
* een rieten dak
* symmetrische opzet
* een centrale, rijkversierde siergevel
* een bordes (stoep) voor het huis
* neoclassicistische, barokke en/of rococo invloeden Vaak wordt de Nederlandse klokgevel geassocieerd met deze bouwstijl. Veel van de boerderijen hebben deze ook, waardoor ze doen denken aan de houten boerderijen in de Zaanstreek. Er zijn echter genoeg voorbeelden van Kaap-Hollandse huizen zonder klokgevel. De stijl werd toegepast van eind zeventiende tot midden achttiende eeuw. Eind negentiende eeuw was er sprake van een herleving. Deze stijl wordt neo-Kaaps-Hollandse stijl genoemd of Cape Dutch revival. De ambtswoning van de Zuid-Afrikaanse president, Groote Schuur, in Kaapstad is hier een goed voorbeeld van. Ook zijn veel oude huizen in Kaaps-Hollandse stijl in de negentiende eeuw 'verrijkt' met een victoriaanse veranda. Dit werd victorianisatie genoemd. Voorbeelden van Kaaps-Hollandse stijl:
