In Aztec mythology, the Centzonhuītznāhua (Nahuatl pronunciation: [sent͡sonwiːtsˈnaːwa] or, the plural, Centzon Huītznāuhtin, [sent͡sonwiːtsˈnaːwtin]) were the gods of the southern stars. They are the elder sons of Cōātlīcue, and their sister is Coyolxāuhqui. They and their sister tried to murder their mother upon learning of her pregnancy with Huītzilōpōchtli; their plan was thwarted when their brother sprang from the womb—fully grown and garbed for battle—and killed them all.

Ce massacre symbolise l'arrivée du Soleil qui fait disparaître les étoiles du ciel nocturne. Ele se juntou a uma serpente de fogo e afim de vingar a morte de sua mãe foi atrás de seus irmãos para decapitá-los. Demorou um tempo, mas o Deus sol matou os quatrocentos irmãos e logo após isso foi atrás de sua irmã Coyolxauhqui. Os Centzonuitznaua também são conhecidos como os "Quatrocentos Sulistas", "Deuses estelares rebeldes", “Os irmãos rebeldes do Deus Sol”, e “Os Deuses estelares astecas”. Até o momento não se sabe a data do banquete em que os astecas comemoravam a vida dos Deuses Centzonuitznaua. (pt)
