Cestites ("girdle") was controversial fossil from the Middle Ordovician (Darriwilian, 460 million years old) Douglas Lake Member of the Lenoir Limestone from Douglas Dam Tennessee. At first considered a ctenophore, but also interpreted as genus of liverwort by Gregory Retallack.
