| - Els cetotèrids (Cetotheriidae) són una família extinta de cetacis misticets que visqueren entre l'Oligocè i el Pliocè. Alguns científics classifiquen la balena franca pigmea (Caperea marginata) en aquest clade, cosa que significaria que no és extint, però molts investigadors no estan d'acord amb aquesta classificació. La taxonomia dels cetotèrids encara està en flux i és possible que algunes espècies acabin sent transferides a altres grups. (ca)

- Cetotheriidae – rodzina waleni z grupy fiszbinowców. Tradycyjnie klasyfikowano do niej walenie mające fiszbiny, których nie można było zaklasyfikować do żadnej ze współczesnych rodzin. W obecnym rozumieniu grupa ta obejmuje rodzaje Cetotherium, , , , , , , , Pinocetus, , , i przypuszczalnie Caperea. Są to dość niewielkie walenie, przeważnie o długości 4–6 metrów – największy z nich, walenik mały, ma ok. 6,5 m długości. W zapisie kopalnym Cetotheriidae znane od środkowego miocenu – najstarszym znanym przedstawicielem Cetotheriidae może być Metopocetus, którego skamieniałości pochodzą sprzed 13,6–16 mln lat (albo sprzed 9–10 mln lat – nie ma pewności, z jakiej lokalizacji pochodzą szczątki).
