The Colonial Exhibition, Dutch: Koloniale Tentoonstelling, took place in Semarang, Dutch East Indies (now Indonesia) in from 20 August through 22 November 1914. Colonial exhibitions were trade expositions. It was designed to "give a comprehensive picture of the Dutch Indies in their present prosperous condition." It was the first large scale exposition in the Dutch East Indies, and financed by the participating corporations with a subsidy from the Dutch East Indies government. The architect was Maclaine Pont.

Zo was het terrein van deze tentoonstelling in Nederlands-Indië specifiek uitgekozen op de mogelijkheid om de mogelijkheden van landbouw en industrie in de natuurlijke omgeving - zowel op de hoogvlakte van het als op de laagvlakte bij de stad - te laten zien. Zowel in een groot algemeen handelspaviljoen of het 'paviljoen met Inheemse Nijverheid' als in commerciële kleinere paviljoens van onder ander de Nederlandsch Indische Gasmaatschappij (NIGM), de Deli Maatschappij en Koninklijke Paketvaart Maatschappij (KPM) werden de huidige en toekomstige mogelijkheden van de landbouw en industrie in de Nederlandse kolonie getoond.
