Ο νόμος περί του συνταγματικού δικαστηρίου της Αρμενίας περιγράφεται τόσο στο αρμενικό σύνταγμα όσο και σε άλλα νομοθετικά κείμενα της χώρας. Το σύσταση του Συνταγματικού Δικαστηρίου αποφασίστηκε με το δημοψήφισμα της 5ης Ιουλίου 1995. Το σχετικό νομοσχέδιο εγκρίθηκε από την στις 20 Νοεμβρίου 1995 και υπογράφηκε από τον Λεβόν Τερ-Πετροσιάν στις 6 Δεκεμβρίου 1995. Στις 5 και 6 Φεβρουαρίου 1996 διορίστηκαν τα μέλη του Συνταγματικού Δικαστηρίου και το Δικαστήριο άρχισε να λειτουργεί στις 6 Φεβρουαρίου 1996, όταν τα μέλη του ορκίστηκαν ενώπιον της Εθνοσυνέλευσης. Σημερινός πρόεδρος του Συνταγματικού Δικαστηρίου είναι ο Χράϊρ Τοβμασιάν.
