- 脳梁離断術 (英語: Corpus callosotomy) は、難治性てんかんに対する緩和治療 であり、脳梁を切断することによっててんかんによる異常放電が一方の脳半球からもう一方の脳半球に及ばないようにするものである。 術後には左右の脳半球の間の情報伝達が困難になる。脳梁は両半球を接続する最大の神経線維束であるが、両半球は前交連や後交連や海馬交連でも繋がっているため、脳梁を切断しても限定的ながら両半球の間の情報伝達は可能である。しかしながら、脳梁離断ではこれまでに報告されている症例の多くで離断されている神経線維束は脳梁のみならず、前交連や海馬交連を含む場合もあり、脳梁のみという限定付きではない。 「難治性てんかんに対する脳梁離断術の有効性および比較的低い永続有病率は、60年以上の経験によって実証されている。発作の減少だけでなく、行動や生活の質が向上する可能性もある」。 (ja)
- Kalozotomia (ang. callosotomy) – zabieg neurochirurgiczny, polegający na przecięciu spoidła wielkiego mózgu (ciała modzelowatego). Wskazaniem do kalozotomii są ciężkie postaci padaczki lekoopornej, ogniskowej lub wieloogniskowej, z napadami wtórnie uogólniającymi się. W większości przypadków po kalozotomii uzyskuje się znaczną poprawę. Możliwym powikłaniem jest tzw. zespół rozdwojonego mózgu (zespół dyskonekcji, zespół rozłączenia), na który mogą składać się afazja ruchowa, mutyzm, akineza, porażenie połowicze. (pl)
- Corpus callosotomi är ett neurokirurgiskt ingrepp i corpus callosum, det nervknippe i hjärnan som förbinder vänster och höger hjärnhalva. Ingreppet innebär att nervknippet helt eller delvis kapas. Idag är operationen sällsynt och används som en sista utväg mot svårbehandlad epilepsi, oftast mot mycket allvarliga former av epilepsi som innebär risker för svåra fallskador eller andra skador på patienten. Operationen innebär att kommunikationen mellan hjärnhalvorna bryts, vilket gör det svårare för det epileptiska anfallet att sprida sig från den ena hjärnhalvan till den andra. (sv)
- قطع الجسم الثفني (بالإنجليزية: Corpus callosotomy) هو عملية جراحية مُلطِفة لعلاج الصرع الذي لايستجيب للعلاج طبيا، حيث يتم في هذا الإجراء قطع الجسم الثفني في محاولة للحد من انتشار نشاط الصرع بين نصفي الدماغ. بعد العملية، يجد الدماغ صعوبة أكبر في إرسال الرسائل بين نصفي الكرة المخية. وعلى الرغم من أن الجسم الثفني هو أكبر جزء من المادة البيضاء يربط بين نصفي الكرة المخية، إلا أن بعض الاتصالات المحدودة بين نصفي الكرة المخية تظل ممكنة عبر الصوار الأمامي والخلفي. - Corpus callosotomy is a palliative surgical procedure for the treatment of medically refractory epilepsy. In this procedure the corpus callosum is cut through in an effort to limit the spread of epileptic activity between the two halves of the brain. After the operation the brain has much more difficulty sending messages between the hemispheres. Although the corpus callosum is the largest white matter tract connecting the hemispheres, some limited interhemispheric communication is still possible via the anterior commissure and posterior commissure.
