The Council of Europe Convention on Action Against Trafficking in Human Beings is a regional human rights treaty of international human rights law by the Council of Europe. The Convention aims to: * prevent and combat all forms of human trafficking, including, but not limited to sexual exploitation and forced labour, whether national or transnational, whether or not connected with organised crime; * to protect and assist victims and witnesses of trafficking; * to ensure effective investigation and prosecution, and * to promote international co-operation against trafficking.

Elle est entrée en vigueur le 1er février 2008. La Convenzione mira a prevenire e combattere la tratta di esseri umani a fini commerciali, sfruttamento sessuale o di lavoro forzato; per proteggere e assistere le vittime e testimoni della tratta; assicurare indagini e il perseguimento efficace, e di promuovere la cooperazione internazionale contro la tratta. In particolare, la Convenzione richiede misure nazionali di coordinamento, sensibilizzazione, misure per individuare e sostenere le vittime e "periodo di recupero e di riflessione" durante la quale le persone trafficate non saranno espulsi dallo Stato ricevente.
