The dalca or piragua is a type of canoe employed by the Chonos, a nomadic indigenous people of southern Chile, and Huilliche people living in Chiloé archipelago. It was a light boat and ideal for navigating local waterways, including between islands of the Chiloé Archipelago, through the Chacao Channel to mainland Chile, and along the coast of the Gulf of Penas. Spanish chronicles called it best-suited for those waters, far superior to ships of the conquistadores.

- La dalca era un barco cosido, liviano, que empleaban los indígenas chonos, un pueblo nómada del sur de Chile. Posteriormente, la adoptaron los huilliches y los conquistadores españoles, añadiéndole algunas modificaciones menores. Originalmente era armada de 3 tablones de madera arqueados, ajustados, cosidos y calafateados con materiales vegetales de la región. A ellos se le agragaban cuadernas y un tablón de refuerzo en la proa y en la popa que eran afianzados con tarugos de madera. Posteriormente se construyeron con 5 tablones y se les agregó velas y remos. (es)

Ursprungligen var dalcorna hopsydda av barkbitar, senare gick man över till plankor. I Sverige finns två dalcor, en på Världskulturmuseet i Göteborg och en på Etnografiska museet i Stockholm. Båda dessa är insamlade av Carl Skottsberg från kawésqar under en expedition till Eldslandet 1907-09.

Spanish chronicles called it best-suited for those waters, far superior to ships of the conquistadores. The dalca was essential for many activities in Chiloé Archipelago including the logging of alerce wood, the Circular Mission system, and the various expeditions to Nahuel Huapi Lake and the channels of Patagonia. By 1886 dalcas had been replaced by other boat types and were not longer in use in Chiloé. According to archaeologist José Miguel Ramírez, only full non-reconstructed dalcas remaining were collected by Swedish explorer Carl Skottsberg and are at the Museum of Ethnography, Stockholm and the Museum of World Culture, Gothenburg. - Далка (ісп. dalca) — легкий дерев'яний зшитий човен індіанців чоно, кочової тубільної народності з островів архіпелагу Чилое на півдні Чилі, який використовувався в цьому регіоні індіанцями і європейцями до кінця XIX ст. Початкові модель човна складалась з трьох дерев'яних дощок, одна з яких формувала днище човна, а дві інші — борти. Дошки зшивались між собою мотузками з рослинних волокон, а шви між ними конопатилися рослинними матеріалами. Пізніше цей тип човна він був адаптований представниками уїльїчі, гілки народності мапуче та іспанськими завойовниками, які додали деякі незначні модифікації, зокрема збільшивши кількість складових елементів човна (додавши по одній додатковій дошці з кожного борту), та додавши щогли з вітрилами та кочети для весел.
