  • Ardollamh agus scoláire ba ea Dallán Forgaill (c. 530–598). Glactar leis gurb eisean a chum an saothar iomráiteach Amra Choluim Chille (Amhra Cholm Cille). Baisteadh é mar Eochaid Forchella agus tugadh Dallán air tar éis dó radharc na súl a chailleadh, rud a tharla, más fíor, de dheasca an dianstaidéir a bhí á dhéanamh aige. Rugadh é i Maigen (Nua-Gh. Maighean), áit a dtugtar Béal Átha Conaill air anois, agus í le fáil i gContae an Chabháin ar imeall thoir de chríocha Mhasraí (Sean-Gh.: Masraige) Mhá Shléacht. Bhain sé féin le craobh Oirialla a dtugtaí Fir Lorg orthu. (ga)
