| - Dark Beast (Henry Philip McCoy), also known as the Black Beast, is a fictional supervillain appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character is depicted as an alternate reality evil version of the X-Men's Beast. In the Age of Apocalypse reality, McCoy was a mad scientist who implemented cruel experiments under the tyrant Apocalypse. He was one of many characters to escape the Age of Apocalypse reality to the regular Marvel Universe, where he continued his unethical experiments. (en)

Egli è la versione alternativa e malvagia dell'X-Man Bestia e che proviene da un'altra dimensione (quella dell'Era di Apocalisse); è apparso per la prima volta sulle pagine di X-Men Alpha (febbraio 1995). Nella continuity dell'Era di Apocalisse Bestia Nera è un nefario genetista che compie crudeli esperimenti sotto la guida di Apocalisse, ed uno dei pochi personaggi ad essere riuscito a fuggire da quell'universo, per giungere in quello Marvel ufficiale, dove continua a compiere le sue malvagità. Créé par le scénariste Scott Lobdell et le dessinateur (en), le personnage de fiction apparaît pour la première fois dans le comic book X-Men Alpha en 1995. Le personnage est décrit comme une version diabolique provenant d'une réalité alternative du personnage du Fauve (le docteur Hank McCoy), un des héros mutants des X-Men. « Beast » est le nom original du Fauve ; pourtant, le nom « Dark Beast » n'a pas été traduit en français.
