The Dedication of Nikandre is a Greek marble sculpture, made approximately around 650 BCE, held in the National Archaeological Museum, Athens, Greece (Inv. 1). Nikandre, a woman from the island of Naxos, dedicated the statue in the temple of Artemis at Delos, the birthplace of Apollo and Artemis. The statue, which was found during archaeological excavation in the 19th century, is one of the earliest surviving korai, or statues of women, and displays one of the oldest inscriptions of Ancient Greek in stone. Its representation and its placement within the existing stylistic periods of Greek sculpture have become the subject of extensive scholarship.

Die Statue ist 1,75 Meter groß und besteht aus Marmor. Sie stellt eine stehende Frau dar, die mit einem langen Gewand bekleidet ist. Die Arme liegen seitlich an. Das lange Haar fällt in verschiedenen Strähnen auf die Schultern. Das Gesicht ist zerstört. Der Körper der Figur ist flach und etwas unorganisch, war aber einst vermutlich – ähnlich wie die Dame von Auxerre – bemalt und mag lebendiger gewirkt haben. Auf der linken Seite des Gewandes befindet sich eine Weihinschrift: Nikandre hat mich der Fernhintrefferin, der Schützerin der Pfeile geweiht, die Tochter des Deinodikos, des Naxiers, hervorragend unter den Frauen, Schwester des Deinomenes, Frau des Phraxos. Der Inschrift zufolge wurde die Statue also in das Heiligtum der Artemis auf Delos geweiht. Zur Stifterin Nikandre ist nichts weiter bekannt, vielleicht war sie die Tochter oder Gemahlin eines Tyrannen von Naxos. (de)

Wykonany z marmuru naksyjskiego posąg, przedstawiający stojącą postać kobiecą z rękami opuszczonymi wzdłuż ciała i złączonymi nogami, jest jednym z najstarszych znanych przykładów rzeźby monumentalnej w sztuce greckiej. Ma 1,9 m wysokości. Został odnaleziony w częściach, przełamany w talii i z ułamaną prawą ręką. Zaginęła część lewej ręki od łokcia do nadgarstka. Przedstawiona postać to najprawdopodobniej bogini lub jej kapłanka. Odziana jest w długą szatę przepasaną w talii, jej głowę zdobią długie włosy opadające na ramiona. Postać ukazana jest płaszczyznowo, bez efektów głębi. Na lewym boku posągu wyryta została pisana bustrofedonem inskrypcja zawierająca imię jego fundatorki. Treść inskrypcji głosi: Nikandra z Naksos najważniejsza między kobietami, córka Deinodikesa, siostra Deinomenesa, żona Phraksosa (pl)
